Liber & Co. is a small company consisting three long-time friends sharing the goal of offering small batch, hand-crafted cocktail ingredients. Donna and I both agree that Liber’s first product –a small batch artisanal spiced tonic syrup made to honor and elevate the classic gin and tonic – is a winner, and one deserving of our support. To that aim, we’ve kept our profit margin very low here, in the hope that the nice folks at Liber & Co. will succeed in their endeavor, and continue to create more wonderful hand-crafted cocktail ingredients. After all, isn’t that why we’re all involved int he craft cocktail movement?

This is a 16 oz bottle of tonic syrup. We also sell an 8 oz bottle for $12.

Naturally, we use Cinchona bark as our quinine source, rather than the synthetically produced quinine sulphate typically used in commercial tonic. We honored tonic’s maturation in India by adding select botanicals native to South Asia. The addition of fresh-cut lemongrass, various citrus and raw agave nectar gives our product a complex flavor and a ruddy orange color. It is a unique and delicious experience far beyond typical tonic water. In honing our recipe, we strove for balanced aromatics, complimentary flavors and a rounded character with multiple notes. Our tonic has a distinct bitter bite, with citrus and spice on the nose, an herbal acidity on the tongue, and a crisp but mildly sweet finish.
